Abstract:
This Center for Victim Research (CVR) publication can help early career researchers gauge their institution's involvement in community-engaged research and explore ways to align their career goals with urgent needs in their communities. The document includes practical considerations for addressing both the needs in the victim services community, like recognition of in-the-field expertise and applicable research questions, and in the academic environment, like tenure and rigorous research methods. Finally, the document suggests ways to build a support network for conducting research in collaborative partnerships. See also CVR webinar on the same topic. (CVRL Abstract)
