dc.description Report en_US
dc.description.abstract The 2010 reauthorization of the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA) included significant provisions to address the intersection of child maltreatment and domestic violence. Building on the knowledge gained from previous efforts to address this intersection, the provisions called for stronger federal and state responses to help children and parents in the child welfare system impacted by domestic violence. This report examines how the domestic violence provisions in CAPTA have been implemented at the federal and state levels and subsequent successes and challenges. It is informed by interviews with key federal and state officials, child abuse and domestic violence advocates, a national survey of child abuse and neglect administrators, and other research.
