dc.description.abstract This research brief synthesizes the latest available information and research relating to the mistreatment of Latinx older adults, providing insight into general cultural beliefs, views, norms, of Latinx communities and how they relate to and influence elder mistreatment, covering prevalence and types of abuse, cultural values and risk factors, domestic violence, perceptions of mistreatment, and help-seeking behaviors and beliefs. It also includes some population statistics, a glossary of commonly used terms specific to the Latino community, and tips for working with older Latino individuals and their families.
