Abstract:
This fact sheet summarizes the key findings of the 2012 National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey specifically related to youth. The survey, conducted by telephone, asked adult men and women if they had experienced rape, attempted rape, or made to penetrate, including incidents that occurred when they were under 18 years old and incidents that involved alcohol or drugs. The fact sheets gives statistics on relationships between rape perpetrator and rape victim, statistics on those raped as minors being raped again as adults, and gives a brief overview of the CDC’s STOP SV prevention initiative.
