Abstract:
This framing paper reviews the current literature and statistics on the trafficking of American Indian and Alaska Natives, and contextualizes this topic within the context of current U.S. Government and tribal legislation and policy. In addition, it develops “consultation questions” on research and statistics examining best research practices for this particular topic and given the current state of the research. Lastly, it reviews federal government response to the problem of trafficking of the AI/AN population and proposes additional consultation questions for federal government training and technical assistance for addressing this problem.
