dc.description.abstract The ProQOL is the most commonly used measure of the negative and positive effects of helping others who experience suffering and trauma. The ProQOL has sub-scales for compassion satisfaction, burnout, and compassion fatigue.Professional quality of life for those providing care has been a topic of growing interest over the past twenty years. Research has that shown those who help people that have been exposed to traumatic stress are at risk for developing negative symptoms associated with burnout, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder. The measure has been in use since 1995. There have been several revisions. The ProQOL 5 is the current version. The ProQOL is available in 26 languages at https://proqol.org/ProQol_Test.html and additional translations can be requested. (CVRL Abstract) en_US
